G'day cobbers!
I've been playing guitar since I was 10 and recently I've be having a renaissance and am looking to join a band/form a band.
I have performed live in my youth and maintained an interest in guitar since then. I have been taking lessons again this year and have been working to get back in shape and start writing music again.
Metal is my primary focus. I am working on my confidence and style, and lately have been learning how to play blues and improve my acoustic and rhythm playing as I found myself bogged down with shredding over the years! I am also working on my playing and singing. I have played many covers over the years (Metallica, RATM, Pantera etc) and it wouldn't take long for me to get in gigging shape for covers.
I am working on building my home studio and I do come with a rehearsal space if you're nice to me : ) My goal is to record an album within the next couple of years and I'm putting as much energy into it as possible. Recordings soon!
I play 6 and 7 string and foray occasionally into 8 string. My favourite styles are thrash, prog, symphonic and power metal, as well as funk and blues. What I play may vary! But that's the inspiration. Anything with a great groove and sick guitar and that's what I'd like to play too.
Some of my favourite scales include the diminished, whole tone and harmonic minor. I also enjoy your classic metal modes. I love a good minor or diminished arpeggio. Or a fat half diminished run. I am currently learning all the extended chords and learning to creating more complex harmonies and melodies with a view to incorporating this into my metal playing.
