Aidan Efron is an in-demand multi-instrumentalist, composer and educator from Melbourne, Australia. Aidan has worked as both a band leader and sideman in the Melbourne music scene for the last 4 years, playing in projects of varying styles including jazz, funk, blues, pop and rock. Since graduating from the James Morrison Academy in 2020, Aidan has co-founded and toured nationally with his band “New Exchange”, as well as co-writing and recording music with other bands such as “CJ Commerford and the Supertones” and singer-songwriter, Misty Harlowe.
Performance highlights include a South Australian tour with James Morrison; the Sydney Conservatorium Jazz Fest with the inaugural Australian National Youth Big Band, as well as sharing the stage with some of Australia’s (and the worlds’) top jazz musicians, including Mat Jodrell, Will Vinson and Tony Gould.
Since studying composition and arranging with Australian producer Grant Windsor, Aidan has written and arranged music for a wide range of settings such as big band, small jazz ensembles, and classical string quartets. Aidan also regularly writes and collaborates with artists on singer-songwriter projects, such as his work with up-and-coming country singer Misty Harlowe
