I was a professional Musical Theatre singer and actress in my 20s and early 30s and did a lot of live classical and theatre singing in various productions. I also recorded a couple of teen pop albums which were soundtracks to the tv shows I was in. My natural vocal style most suits folk, jazz, classical or country. I can belt out a power ballad and some Aussie rock classics but it's not really my forte. Think Eva Cassidy. My keyboard skills are ok... nothing fancy be can comfortably knock out the chords while I sing. I'm a married 45 year old Mum of two who reckons she's still 'got it' even though I've been out of the 'biz' for about 13 years. I teach music and am always telling my kids to put themselves out there and take risks. I miss performing and am looking for some like-minded musos who might want to put a set list together or perhaps you already have the band and need the classy cool (mature) chick to lead the singing. I can play keyboard and a bit of ukulele but have never done either of those things in fron of an audience. I'm a singer and can perform the hell out of a song... not just stand and sing it.
Based South of the River. Not keen to travel heaps but an occasional gig out of town would be okay. Can rehearse Thursdays during the day and most evenings... would be stoked to have an occasional gig to start with.
