I am a drummer moving to Sydney, in January 2020. I started my musical career in Kolkata with local heroes ‘Krosswindz’, playing live and recording an album with them in 2005. Thereafter, I went on to be a founder member of the seminal rock n roll band ‘The Supersonics’ back in 2006. ‘The Supersonics’ toured across the length and breadth of the country playing all the major music festivals, colleges and music venues as well as a tour of the United Kingdom in 2010. I was the drummer on their two studio albums ‘Maby Baking’ and ‘Heads Up’ produced by the British legend Miti Adhikari.
I have also been a part of the ‘The Saturday Night Blues Band’ a blues-rock outfit from Kolkata from 2012 to 2017. Performing live and recording their originals I have toured and played at some major venues across the country including the Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai. I have also been the go to drummer for various Fender and Friends shows across the country featuring ace guitar players like Ehsaan Noorani, Rudy Wallang, Sumith Ramachandran and Bruce Lee Mani.
Working with Neel Adhikari’s indie rock band Neel and the Lightbulbs I have recorded and toured to promote our albums ‘House in a Car’ and ‘Rewind’ (2015).
In Mumbai since mid 2017 I have been working with singer songwriter Mohit Mukhi and rock n’ roll act Fox in The Garden. I have also been working as a session drummer for various cover bands as well as indie singer songwriter Ankur Tewari’s band ‘Ankur and The Ghalat Family’. I also played for theatre with Atul Kumar’s play ‘Detective Nau Do Gyaarah’
My playing has been most often described as ‘musical’, ‘for the song’ and always ‘groovy’. Be it a recording for commercial music or a rock/pop/funk/indie track/Bollywood, taste, energy and musicality are always in abundance.
As a live performer the energy and vitality I bring to the music with my drumming coupled with over a decade of experience make me a great addition to any touring or recording act.

HCL Maestros in Studio Live at The Peninsula Studios (2018) as creative producer for Season 1.
‘HCL Maestros in Studio Live The Peninsula Studios’ is an audiovisual production series of Indian Classical Music performances. We present the finest young artists of today, performing select pieces, recorded live The Peninsula Studios.

In Season 1 we recorded 68 tracks of music over 681 minutes rendered by 34 artists from across the country in Season. 11 sets of Hindustani Classical artists and 5 sets of Carnatic artists.
