SEEKING
Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Background Singer.ABOUT
Currently in a band, Push the Trigger, seeking a second guitarist who can also sing backing vocals. We are four people doing mostly 90s covers, with a buffer zone of late 80s and early 00s. We've gigged successfully a couple of times already, but we'd love to fill out our sound with another guitarist and some backing vocals. We're three Gen Xers and one Millenial, so if you're in your 30s to 50s, you'll probably tend to like the music we are covering -- everything from Mazzy Star and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Hole and Soundgarden.
Best way to contact me is on my mobile, 0467 354 020.
Performing experience: Most recently I formed a band to do GenX covers and we had our first gig (7 songs) in late February 2024. (See video clip reel on my profile - not a professional recording as far as sound, but you get the idea.) Our second gig was delayed due to band members' travel exigencies, but we just gigged again last weekend (28 July 2024).
Before that, I've done four solo open-mic nights, two duet open-mic nights, numerous collaborative nt-band open-mic events where I sang and/or played keys; and many performances during my time (2023) doing a Diploma of Music at Melbourne Poly Fairfield. I find I'm more comfortable performing with others. And it's way more fun.
I am fine with doing original songs or covers of great songs.
Background: I'm a longtime piano player (intermittently since childhood, but only with real commitment in the past 5-6 years), with some electronic keyboard experience (about 3 years). I sing and play simultaneously on my own, but enjoy doing either separately as well. I mostly play and sing covers of songs I love, but I improvise too, and sometimes I find original songs in these. I have lots of half-written songs and am good at coming up with melodies, chord progressions, harmonies. I'd love to work with other musicians to take my songlets the rest of the way to wherever they're going. And, in the event, help you do likewise with yours.

Nothing to See vox/piano (first verse + chorus)
Nothing to See vox/piano (first verse + chorus) Year: 2022 Album: Miya Folick (single) Genre: Cover/Tribute
This is a great pop tune -- sad but some of the lyrics are funny too. I performed more or less a straight cover of this at school recently supported by guitar, drums, and backing vox. This recording is from when I was practising solo.

Leather vox/piano (abridged)
Leather vox/piano (abridged) Year: 1992 Album: Tori Amos: Little Earthquakes Genre: Cover/Tribute
Tori Amos was a major influence on me in the 1990s. She is part of the reason I took up piano again after many years of neglect. I still adore her songs even 30 years later.

As the World Caves In (piano)
As the World Caves In (piano) Year: 2017 Album: Matt Maltese (single) Genre: Cover/Tribute
I created this piano backing track for a singer I was working with on a project. It's a great song (even better with lyrics but piano was my role here). Recorded with voice memo, as are all my recordings so far, as I'm not up to scratch with Ableton... yet...
