? Drummer Seeking Funk/Fusion/Acid Jazz Band (Originals – No Vocals necessary)

Hey there – I'm a drummer looking to join or help form an instrumental acid jazz/funk fusion group.

Think:
Yellowjackets, D.I.G., Dave Weckl Band, Incognito, Chick Corea, Brand New Heavies — all groove-heavy, jazz/funk-infused, and tight without being stiff.

What I’m after:
Original music – no covers, no singers needed.

Collaborative mindset – open to ideas, no egos

Rehearsals every two weeks, everyone comes prepped

Musicianship with feel – not just chops for chops’ sake

Players: Bass, guitar, keys, maybe sax/brass/wind instrument?

Looking for players who want to build something cool from the ground up — a laid-back vibe with a pro attitude. No pub circuit grind. No chasing exposure. Just good music, well played, for the joy of it (and yeah, some smart gigs when we want).
