Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Drums, Saxophone, Keyboard, Piano, Background Singer, Harmonica, Bagpipes.ABOUT
Have been playing bass for about 7 years, and have a played with a couple of bands during that time. Looking for a 4+ piece band of similar age group (17-30ish) to develop with, focusing on a driving high-energy rock sound also intertwined with some more slower, melodic pieces - even a bit of reggae rock.
Something in the veins of Midnight Oil, The Tragically Hip, Radiators, The Police and other 70s/80s alt/punk rock bands; some songs with a bit of political intent, and some that just tell a story. Also keen for some more chill stuff as well, like Gomez, Fun Lovin' Criminals, and Kyuss. Interested in originals and a few covers.
I’m all for picking a chugging bass line to lock in with the rest of the rhythm section, but I’m also good with technicalities when the time calls for it. Any backing vocals or chants, I would be happy to take on also. I have so far written up a couple of instrumental tracks of my own, so I'd be up for contributing to songwriting and such.
Some sounds I take a bit of inspiration from:
Head Injuries - Midnight Oil
Road Apples - The Tragically Hip
Feel the Heat - The Radiators
Powerage; Let There Be Rock - AC/DC
Fried - Julian Cope
The Cars - The Cars
Sports - Huey Lewis and the News
Regatta de Blanc - The Police
Rat in the Kitchen - UB40
Radios Appear - Radio Birdman
The Blurred Crusade - The Church
Moving Pictures - Rush
Face to Face - The Angels
Gomez - Liquid Skin
