Keen on small group - with feeling and commitment to vocals and harmony singing. Trad and contemporary folk and country mainly. Now mainly playing a guitar modified to play like a Cittern - 5 courses (10 strings) tuned CGDAE, but still play it like one would a guitar, to accompany singing with occasional instrumental breaks. Have played in a bush band and can play jigs and reels on mandolin, but would prefer a strong vocal/ harmony group. With soft instrumental fills, fingerpicking, etc. Hope to rehearse regularly. Aso interested in busking and volunteer gigging (in hospitals, retirement facilities, etc.) But very happy to play for the pleasure of it on any basis.

All the great folksinger/songwriters and most folksingers past and present. Lately loving Iris DeMent, Merle Haggard, Dougie Maclean, Louden Wainwright III. Researching country and comedy a bit at the moment. Love singing and improvising. Americana, Australiana, world music, Dylan, Beatles, Slim Dusty, Eric Bogle whatever. Even love vocal exercises on YouTube!!
