ABOUT

UPDATE - I find it very hard with my job to find the time to commit to a 'band'. TBH the thought of lugging heavy equipement around to rehersals etc. is a bit of a pain. BUT.. and this is important...I play all the time.. every day.. I would like nothing more than to find some kindred spirits who take the same casual approach to music and might be up for a monthly or fortnightly catch up either at my place or around the Hallett Cove area.

If you play guitar and are interested in bluegrass I am always keen to get the banjo or mando out and jam.. likewise if you want to play some accoustic or even electric stuff.. but lets make sure we are on the same wavelength.

I play guitars (6 string, 12 string, open tunings, slide, acoustic & electric) and banjo (bluegrass style, melodic and strummed in various tunings). Check out my tracks.

I have a mandolin and can play a handful of songs and uke. I also dabble in percussion or other novelty intstruments like jaw harp, folk harmonica, spoons, tambourines, bongos, congas, shakers etc. I like to learn new things so you could say I'm a jack of all trades but with little formal training. Most things I picked up myself.

I'm hoping to meet some people South of Adelaide who might be interested in doing a collaboration or who have a project on the go that needs a vacalist/guitarist or who are interested in song writing.

I can play electric and some lead stuff but at the moment I've really been doing a lot of finger picking accoustic based stuff like John Prine, Eric Bibb etc. I like bands that have that mix of electric and accoustic.. I also like rock and punk and metal.. I'm really not fussed about genres..

My own music is a reflection of my diverse musical tastes. I really enjoyed playing in a band with a lead vocalist I could do harmonies with. I'm keen to explore singing a bit more and play around with vocal melodies and percussive singing.. I have a Bass/Baritone Voice so much of the modern vocal stuff is too high for my range but I can adapt. Nick Cave is right in my vocal range.

I have plenty of live performance experience and gear. I also have a space for regular rehearsals on a week night available with a PA. I'm confident to do gigs but I also have a life and a job that mean I'm not expecting to tour Australia (unless we get discovered..lol). I'm happy to do one or two gigs per month, starting with a few open mic nights..
