Violin.ABOUT
I'm looking for a female violin player who can also sing and act a bit to form a duo to perform a show called FOOL FOR LOVE which is original songs and stories about amusing a romantic misadventures.
Ideally, a violin player but I'm also willing to look at other instruments such as guitar, ukelele etc. The music is in blues, folk, country and alt styles. Looking for someone lively with a sense of humor.
The duo is to be called ACT NATURALLY, summing up the idea that the mode of presentation is very natural, fun and spontaneous. (Though there is also room for more serious moments and more emotional songs.)
I am a well-known writer theater producer and musician. Foremely a TV producer with the ABC. Last year I produced three shows in the Melbourne Fringe all involving lots of music in the styles mentioned above. I play guitar and harmonica. The singer I most get compared to is Lou Reed. (I like the comparison, I'm not sure that Lou Reed does, even if he were alive,)
I have lots of original songs and stories about romantic misadventures of my own but am open to input of songs and stories from the other member of the duo about romantic misadventures of her own..
I already have some gigs booked to perform a few songs which I can do myself but could also be a good way to break in the duo, and I'm looking to do the whole show in a venue in Northcote in July.
