Jim Budd is a musician who performs on multiple instruments including; mandolin, national steel guitar, archtop jazz guitar, acoustic guitar, fretless bass guitar, drums, steel pan drums, and piano.
Jim has a moderate level of formal music education, with a solid understanding of music harmony and improvisation. Awards include Bachelor of the Arts degree with music major from Griffith University, and a Diploma in Jazz from Jazzworx Music Institute.
He has also previously worked in the music industry for over a decade, in marketing and developmental roles with Jazz Queensland Inc. and also Qmusic.
Jim Budd is currently based on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, Queensland Australia, and performs with a range of local artists and groups including, Bizarrely Quartet, Day Breakers, Paul Bulanyi and many more.

With a love for a wide range of musical genres, Jim has the ability to play authentically in styles such as, jazz, blues, folk, country, bluegrass, gypsy, celtic and classical music, drawing much inspiration from his beloved musical hero’s, Wes Montgommery, Wynton Marsalis, David Grisman, and Ry Cooder.
