I am a singer-songwriter with a powerful bass voice accompanied by acoustic guitar, carefully-crafted lyrics and songs based largely around issues of social justice and the environment, particularly those pertinent to Australia. I also cover a number of songs by other artists (see below) that address these themes. Since 2017 I have been a regular performer at folk festivals as well as at other songwriter gigs. In 2018 I released my debut album "A Better Way" and have several other original songs I play regularly but am yet to record. My style is varied, influenced by folk, rock, country and blues genres. I would like to be involved in a band with similar interests, whether playing our own originals or covers, with the aim of recording and playing at festivals, events/protests in support of progressive causes, and other live gigs.

While you talk, we die Track number: 3 Year: 2018 Album: A Better Way Genre: Folk
In 2017 the words "You talk we die" were emblazoned on an Abbotsford laneway mural in Melbourne, along with the names of 34 people who died of overdoses in the area in the past year. Under intense community and political pressure the Victorian government finally agreed, after years of resistance, to a trial of a medically supervised injecting centre. The evidence has long been clear - these centres save lives.

There's gotta be a better way
There's gotta be a better way Track number: 5 Year: 2018 Album: A Better Way Genre: Folk
"There's got to be a better way" were the words of Steve Kilburn, former worker at the Australian-funded Manus Island detention centre in PNG. He was interviewed for an ABC Four Corners investigation into the riots of Monday 17 February 2014, when asylum seeker Reza Barati was murdered by local centre staff. A witness to the riots, Steve was visibly traumatised and, like many other Australians, disgusted by our nation's treatment of people seeking our protection.
