I’m a Lead Guitarist currently playing with Kotahi Groove. I'm seeing what else is out there atm.

Since playing my first live gig in a pub at age 14, I’ve played with numerous bands of different genres including hard rock, blues, top 40, funk, country, originals, tribute bands and even a short stint helping out a mate in a metal band.

I like to have some room to do my own thing which is a fantastic thing for a musician and contributes to creating something new, rather than imitating someone else. If I want to hear the original, I'll listen to a DJ play the CD.

My musical influences include Edward Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Antonio Vivaldi, Steve Vai, Steve Morse, J S Bach, AC/DC, Pink Floyd and anyone else with exceptional talent. I could list many more!

EQUIPMENT

I play Fender Stratocaster guitars modified with Seymour Duncan hot rails pickups. I run through either my Bogner Ecstasy 101B or Marshall JVM410 amps and then into a Marshall 1936 Vintage 2x12 closed back cab. (only because I’m sick of lugging quad boxes around!) I used to run big digital preamp rigs that could do just about anything, but I’ve gone all old school now with overdriven valve amps using only a bit of reverb and compression sometimes. Yeah, it’s a one trick pony but it’s a hell of a trick!
