Band to Join, Vocalist, Rhythm Guitar, Lead Guitar, Bass Guitar.ABOUT
I'm currently playing drums in a speed metal band; SharpShooter - check it out here: https://sharpshooter5.bandcamp.com/album/pissing-on-the-ashes-b-w-conquer-hell
I'm enjoying it, but it's not enough for me - we only rehearse a few times a month; so I've got time for a second band (and maybe even a third). I strongly prefer to stay on drums. (I would consider switching to bass or rhythm guitar if I really liked the music and you already had a drummer.)
Ideally, I want to join an outfit where everybody is really committed and, like myself, doesn't have any major time constraints (demanding job, family, etc) that get in the way of taking music seriously.
I want to be in a band where every member is totally devoted to practicing and playing live as often as possible; writing good songs (or playing really good covers, if you will), and being so good onstage that nobody who sees us forgets it - a band that says 'yes' to every gig offered, and where every member learns songs quickly and doesn't suffer self-doubt or need coaching.
My preferred genres are rock, punk and metal. I'm open to playing other styles, but you'll probably find my drumming style and capabilities don't match your requirements. I have almost no formal training in jazz, funk or Latin percussion.
For rock, I lean to the rowdier end - something like Thin Lizzy or Southern River Band, but even some new wave stuff (Joy Division) or alternative (Mudhoney, Sonic Youth) would suit me fine. Lighter indie rock and pop rock are not preferred (with the exception of '80s pop and synthwave, which I love). Nothing too bluesy or roots-oriented, either.
For punk, I prefer the '80s American hardcore tradition like Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, and noise rock (Big Black, The Mark of Cain). Preferably not pop punk (some of it's good but I've done that already). European crust punk and Detroit rock would be okay too.
For metal: extreme (thrash, death, black, grindcore) is preferred. (Although tech death is above my abilities, much as I'd love to be able to do that.) Traditional metal is fine, as is progressive metal (although I am definitely not a Tool fan; which narrows it down alot, I've found). Doom is fine although preferably not stoner rock. Groove metal, nu metal, metalcore and deathcore are not preferred. Glam is okay, although I don't fit the image.

If I don't respond, please don't be offended. I don't want to waste anybody's time. All it means is that I've listened to your music and it's not quite taking my fancy. (I listen to ALL demos when people reach out, and I hear a lot of interesting stuff; but I can't play for any band unless I really like the songs - I'm pretty picky about that. Songwriting is actually way more important than style or chops). Putting a band together and finding a drummer can be really hard; I wish the best for everybody trying.
