ABOUT
Hey guys. My name is Michael and I'm looking to start up a band or join a group and hopefully get noticed and become famous out of it. I live in Brisbane and I am mainly focused on bass playing being self taught and I'm alright on drums as well. I have had some lessons on drums but I want to continue with bass more.
I'm just looking for experienced or relatively good lead guitarist/vocalist, rhythm guitarist/vocalist, and drummer who are good at what they do. If your extra talented the better it'll be. That would be the ideal band for me. If not that a vocalist, lead guitarist and drummer.
The band I have been listening to constantly over the past year or two are the Arctic Monkeys. Specifically there earlier work but I also listen and have been influenced but tones of other bands which you'll see in the influences section.
I would ultimately like our sound to be similar to early Arctic Monkeys but with differences obviously as well with a mixture of blur, The Wombats and Franz Ferdinand. I'm a big fan of the two minute quick catchy tune but also don't mind the longer stuff as well. I also love the idea of a couple of guys in a room playing songs with the basic elements. Bass, Drums, Guitar and Vocals but with some effects. Depends on what strikes the mood really. So that's what I'm really after.
Since studying music subjects over a year ago now I've really missed playing in a room with other talented musicians and really want to get that feeling back. I've got a little space set up for jamming at my place with some basses, an electronic drum kit, and an acoustic guitar. But if you play electric guitar please bring your own + amp. My aim is pretty much a popular one. Have fun playing music with others, have a laugh, and if things go well, become a household name across the world.
