The Brisbane based Urban Swing Big Band formed in 2004 is a 14-piece ensemble recreating the music and energy of the great big bands of the thirties, forties and fifties. Under the musical direction of Shea Stanley, the band has performed regularly over the past 8 years at a variety of venues in Brisbane and the surrounding region.
Playing a large variety of musical styles from the 30s right through to the 80s, the band's gig calendar is a balanced mix of great dance and fun music for private functions, pub gigs, organised dances and public festivals. The band has performed regularly at the Brisbane and Sunshine Coast Jazz Clubs.
