ABOUT

Hey team,

My name is Nic and I'm keen as for a chat if you're looking for a session drummer for a show/tour/recording. Heaps of experience in different styles from post rock to prog, country, blues and everything in between.

I live a couple hours outside Brisbane but travel isn't a problem for the right session/gig/tour. Happy to take the wheel on jaunts around the country as well.

GIve me a message if you fancy a chat. Clean drivers licence, pro gear, pro attitude, funny accent.

Bio below:

Hailing from the UK and now residing just outside of Brisbane, Nic Ross has been in the industry now for two decades.

He’s recorded and toured the UK and Australia with a plethora of bands, ranging from post rock to prog, jazz and country and everything in between. Add in sold out month long residencies (The Blues Brothers and The Rat Pack Live) at the world’s biggest arts festival - he’s been there, done that and got the T-shirt.

Now sitting behind the kit for Lucid Safari and Mass Sky Raid as well as picking up sessions along the way, he’s well known for understanding what the song needs, being a versatile and soulful player.

Currently an Australian endorser of Sonor Drums, UFiP Cymbals and Los Cabos Drumsticks. Graduated with distinction from Music Performance diploma from Edinburgh College.

EQUIPMENT

Way too much gear so I will have something to suit the gig.

Wide array of UFiP Cymbals, from poppy and nice sounding to dark, trashy and angsty sounding. Gotta love a bit o' emo.

Wide array of Sonor Drums from vintage to modern, perfect for any session or gig. Kick drum sizes from 18" up to 22", tom sizes ranging from 8" - 16".

'75 Champion, '90s Force 2000, 00's AQ2, 00's SQ1

And if you're feeling truly vintage... 1958 Slingerland Radio King for some extra mojo on that special recording.

Various snares ranging from modern Sonor, DW, Pork Pie, classic Brady and Ludwig, vintage ('40s & '50s) Slingerland and Drouyn and a few other shelf fillers that sound surprisingly good.

You have the session, I have the sound covered.
