SEEKING
Band to Join.ABOUT
Clarinettist seeking to form a duo or trio built around pop classics and jazz. Looking for a like-minded guitarist/keyboard player to build a repertoire and develop a sound. We live just outside Bega and have the time and place to practice. I sang and played guitar for around 10 years in the 1970s. I started as a solo singer before becoming lead singer with several bands in Canberra in the early 1970s, the James Jameson Group and later Good Vibrations playing various gigs and also residencies. I sang with Midnight Blue at the Ainslie Hotel. Like to renew my interest in music with others who share my view of music.
I have been playing and studying clarinet for six years.

Influences
The Doors, The Beatles, Cream and the crowded musical scene from the 1970s dominated music by cover bands like ours. But it was still a time for singers to feature strongly in bands. I studied voice at the Canberra School of Music and appeared in the cast of several productions of the Canberra Philharmonic Society. Now seeking to reflect the revision of classics through jazz and lounge music. My main influence on taking up the clarinet is Acker Bilk.
