This is a long short story about my guitar journey.
I began grabbed guitar when I was 13. The first song that I learn is 'come as you are' by Nirvana while all of my friends were learning to play Green Day and Blink 182. So I got influenced to learn Green Day and Blink 182 songs. That's the phase where I got really comfortable to play the bar chords
After messing around with bar chords I got bored to play the same pattern every time, I wanted to learn something else but my music references that time was so poor. Then one of my mates just told me that he just heard the coolest song ever, which is 'The Trooper' by Iron Maiden, and he challenges me to play that song. I feel challenged and I should be able to impress him. So I learned that song and start to explore more complicated pattern. I didn't play correctly and I played in a horrible tempo.. very out of time.. but I succeed to impress my friend. I felt like a rockstar that day. I started sensing that guitar is my passion, because I'm able to play something that most of my mates can't.
Since that day I started listening to rock radio station and then I heard they played 'As I am' by Dream Theater. I was like 'look at this song! this is a really cool riff and odd timing' then I started to explore more about Dream Theater.
I'm so in love with every single Dream Theater's riff. I told all my friends about Dream Theater, even almost the whole students in school know Dream Theater because I always play their riff every time I touch guitar in school
Since that day I'm getting more convinced that guitar is my thing and I have skill on guitar.
I started to take courage to walk to the stage and form a band. Then I'm settled as a guitarist. But then I have to leave my hometown to go to Australia and I lose every musicians friend. Now I have to start my music journey in Australia from the beginning, the only difference is I already have experience now

Influences
My guitar playing is heavily influenced by Rush and Dream Theater. However, I listen to any kind of music and willing to play any kind of music except Reggae.
I'm currently listening to Extreme and start mixing my playing style to Nuno Bettencourt's riffs selection
