Formed by musicians from far flung places who settled in Melbourne, Australia, Sunshine Servo emerged in 2018 initially rehearsing and recording demos in suburban garages, before becoming energized post-pandemic to play a handful of inner city venues in the lead up to a recording project. The band honed their sound to select and record five songs for their debut EP Episodes, released to the world in October 2024.
Splitting the difference between 90s Australian indie rock, sunny vocal harmonies, and surf music, and listing influences as diverse as The Clean, The Go-Betweens, Guided By Voices and Built To Spill but with an ear tuned closely to local groups such as Program, The Stroppies and Bench Press, Sunshine Servo continue writing catchy indie pop / rock tunes in the thriving musical metropolis of Melbourne, Australia.
