second year university student studying jazz and improvisation at victorian college of the arts. I play mainly alto, tenor and baritone sax. I’ve been on the gig scene for about a year now and have done some great gigs at venues such as the Jazzlab, kindred studios, the retreat and many more. I try to be as versatile as I can be stylistically, but I regularly play in a blues band, a neo-soul band, an experimental jazz band, big bands, and lots of experience in jazz quintet ensembles. I have two studio recordings out with the band “In Xira”.

Influences
A big influence for my sax playing is Paul desmond- i love his sweet like honey tone on the instrument. I love the classic Coltrane and frequently attempt to recreate the rich and textured ‘wall of sound’ he creates. A massive modern influence of mine is Kamasi Washington.
