ABOUT

I am 43 years old and I have always been interested in playing music. I am experienced in playing both drums and guitar, but guitar has been my focus for the last 17 years. I have accumulated quite a good range of equipment to be able to create a wide range of sounds and tones. I place great importance in listening to the other musicians in the band to ensure there is a good mix of sound and that the music is in tune and in time.

Influences

My first guitarist influence was watching Steve Vai playing 'Jack Butler' in "Crossroads". I think it set me up for a lifetime of multiple influences. Rock, Blues and Classical are all in that guitar battle along with the attitude and showmanship.

My second guitarist influence is Slash. As a 13 year old, I religiously watch the Guns N' Roses Live in Tokyo video. Again this was another display of different musical styles from a band with a high level of musicianship.

My third guitarist influence is Jimmy Page. The movie "The Song Remains the Same" was another big musical journey in seeing a high level of musicianship form all members with a wide range of styles.

Also, of course there are many more; Jimi Hendrix, The Edge, Paul Kossoff, Joe Satriani and too many more to mention. The main theme here in my influence is a love of live music. There is nothing better than actually playing live on a stage in front of people and challenging yourself. In my opinion, if you can't play live you won't get anywhere special.
