Been playing since my teens but (see photos) live for the last 4 years with excellent Sydney dance band Voodoo Punch. Chose to step aside early 2023 for a break, but looking for the right band to join - as a BASS player. Want to see how I play? Heaps of cool videos on their social media - FB or YouTbe or Voodoo Punch website.
So not playing live at the moment but open to suggestions. No startups please - must be experienced with professional attitude. I take gigging seriously. Arrive early, lug, unlug, pack, get paid. Recently did a fill in for another working band with temporarily injured bass player - 40 (pop/rock covers) songs for one gig - most of them learned for that gig alone and played from memory. So I can do (reasonably paid) fill-in work if you need help and would otherwise have to cancel.
Independent, self-employed, trying to retire (to music!). Started learning piano at age 5!!, got to AMEB 7th grade. Bought my first bass at age 15 soon after St Peppers came out, played with Indy bands in the 80s - mainly originals - now returning to playing and performing stuff from my teens and the new. Covers, originals.

Influences
Very wide range from of tastes from crooning slow to fast and thrashy. Particular soft spot for the 80s Brit pop and Prog. Rock. Yes, Madness, XTC, The Smiths. But also love playing more modern covers - The Darkness, Green Day, Reel Big Fish. And the technical stuff - Muse, Tool, Radiohead, Rush. Everything from Beatles to Bruno Mars. But I also really like backing a good female vocalist - someone like Fiona Apple who writes particularly melodic bass lines. So ... quite versatile.
As bass players, melodic rock legeneds - John Paul Jones and anyone who plays in a band with a four-letter name, Flea (RHCP), Justin Chancellor (Tool), Geddy Lee (Rush), Tony Wolstenholme (Muse).
Anything you listen to influences you. If I had to choose a few bands - Led Zep, David Bowie, Deep Purple, Yes, Tool, RHCP, Rush, Smiths, Midnight Oil. Punk and funk from the 90s.
