I have been singing for about 20 years
I was in choirs in my youth and in my 20s
I stopped singing for a few years due to a severe vocal chord injury (performing in stage when I had a cold) and the doctors were uncertain whether I would be able to sing again
However when I started back up I realised that although my upper register has been reduced, I had an extra capacity to sing jazz
I have only just started singing with others again in the the past 5 years, as I was grappling with social anxiety
However, I seem to have overcome this through pushing my limits and travelling the world as a solo traveler for the last years until Covid
During Covid my band experience kicked up a notch as I spent months in the jungle in Cairns with a speaker and mike set up and a crew of musicians, for several months
I have been working on making some electronic music on Ableton with an old university mate for the last couple months
He does the music and I come up with the melody, lyrics, vocals, harmonies
My mate then mixes it up adjusting the levels on his computer
I have been writing poetry for decades and have been a writer since I was a child
I won writing prizes in my teen years, have a double degree in English & creative arts and a BA(in psychology)
I have a quick brain, engaging personality and a great sense of humour
Lately I have been working on improvised musical comedy and could take that to the next level if I was able to come together with other musical comedians and some flexible musicians.
