ABOUT

After a long gap from the music industry since my mid twenties, in 2005 I was offered a gig for four months in Thailand performing as a trio on Koh Phanghan island. On my return to Australia, I played at the Loft on the Gold Coast in 06 every week for nine months. In 2007 I moved to northern NSW and in 08 formed my own 1960 - 70's tribute band "Halcyon Dayz", under the guidance of top Australian drummer Jim Yonge. Jim played with top Australian band Pirana in the 70's and later with Bullamakanka. Pirana were the support band to Pink Floyd in Sydney and toured with Deep Purple. In 2013 I moved to Macleay Island, half way between Brisbane and the Gold Coast and performed numerous gigs at the local sporting clubs and hotel, as a trio with well known session guitarist Russell Bayne and later with my five piece band. During 2014 - 2015, Russell and I performed eight gigs as a six piece tribute band at the Story Bridge Hotel in Brisbane. Since 2017, there have been very few gigs available for bands on the Bay Islands, as the local venues primarily now book entertainers using backing tracks.

I am now 66 and moving to south east Asia in September to simply enjoy a fun life style. I would love to hear from any talented musicians in a similar situation who might like to join me and have fun chasing gigs in Thailand and Vietnam as a duo, trio or band.
