ABOUT

Jack of all trades guitarist with a very wide range of musical interests. Coming mainly from a Blues foundation but like to play with a funky groove and jazzy embellishments. Also into Alt takes on most things; Indie, Reggae, Afro Beat, Indian and Country flavours. Brought up in the UK so the Folk /Celtic tradition is part of the mix. Also studied Flamenco and continue to keep an interest in it. There isn't much music that I don't enjoy playing but Aussie pub rock and American MOR stuff leaves me cold (sorry but don't want to waste your time if you're into that).

Basically see musical genres as all seamlessly related and looking for opportunities to bring it all together with people interested in either an originals or covers band that likes to do things differently. Happy playing in all the genres listed, some better than others and also being ambient and experimental. Just enjoy playing with others and treat music as a fun means of communication and collaboration. I'm totally NOT into music as a competition.

Ideal fit would be with people who enjoy the musical journey and are NOT interested in 'doing it like the record' - I cannot see the point in copying note for note but I AM into taking existing material and twisting it to the edge of recognition... much more fun.

Tend to prefer to play 'clean to crunchy' rather than with masses of distortion (although heavy rock / metal is an obvious exception). Also enjoy more experimental stuff and have been known to get lost in guitar synths and suchlike.
