At the moment the West Australian Gypsy Pirates (WAGP) are nothing but an idea; the idea being to form the Rockingham area’s premier Gypsy-Pirate-Folk band.
The band will be aiming to play original music with all members of the band able to contribute.
Other bands I would like to draw influences from include:
• Barcelona Klezmer Gipsy Orchestra
• Mariachi El Bronx
Practice would be fortnightly with possible extra practices to get ready for a gig.
Aim would be to gig once every 3 months – can be more or less based on how all members of the band are feeling.
At the moment I have myself (Scott) who plays the accordion.
I am looking for a combination of the following instruments:
• Mandolin/ukulele/mini guitar
• Double bass (if possible)
• Drums (kick drum and snare only [possibly more if you must])
• Violin
• Clarinet
• Trumpet
• Any other lead strings/woodwind/horns
All musicians should be competent at their instrument(s)
A bit about myself:
Scott Moseley is a multi-instrumentalist who plays piano (and hodes/Hammond), accordion, trombone and dabbles in some percussion (djembe mainly).
Scott loves all kinds of music and has played in the following bands:
• Lightly Salted Peanuts (ska/reggae)
• The Refrains (hip-hop)
• The Wolfes (brass driven garage rock)
• The Fifth Nation (very pretty music)
• Soul Riot (Gang vocals rock and roll)
Happy to discuss with anyone who is interested. Looking forward to hearing from you.
